F.A.Q.

AT BLACK ISLAND RESORT we have a commitment to your satisfaction. We know your leisure time is important to you. Equally important is the value you receive for your dollar. Because of this, selecting an angling or hunting destination presents a number of unusual, yet important considerations and questions.

Question: Why don't you require your guests to fish with a guide?

Answer: First, our guests have asked us not to require that they take a guide. Most of our guests, once comfortable with our area of the lake, enjoy the freedom of exploring by themselves. They seek the excitement and solitude of angling a new bay each day of their stay. They enjoy the satisfaction of locating fish or game without a guide. Most guests do not need a guide. Whether fishing or hunting with a guide or not, we want you to be comfortable enough to find your way around, catch fish and find game and then find your way back to the island. To get you to this comfort level, we feel it is necessary you be given an orientataion tour of the lake in our area. During the orientation we will not only orient you with the lake but we will also show you the methods, lures and patterns that will help you have an enjoyable trip. The same holds true for hunters. After this introduction, you will have enough information to feel comfortable on the water and be successful either fishing or hunting. If at this point you desire a guide, we have experienced men available who are eager to provide you with the services you require. We are always available for any individual attention or advice you may need, guided or not.
